Biography

Obsessed by electronics from an early age, David began his career by developing a commercially successful debugger at the age of 19. Following a Master’s from Imperial College with a dissertation in safety-critical hardware design, he pursued a career in the embedded and EDA industries, until co-founding Direct Insight in 1992. His work now spans both engineering and commercial roles, with a special interest in how the embedded development cycle adapts to today’s demands for complexity, safety and security, and in particular the demands of the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
