Biography

Ian Croston is a senior technology and manufacturing executive with over 30 years’ leadership experience across semiconductors, photonics, consumer electronics, industrial technology and defence. He is currently VP Operations at Lumentum’s Caswell site in the UK, where he leads manufacturing and operational activities supporting the company’s advanced photonics and semiconductor business. Ian has held GM, COO and Board Director roles, leading major transformation programmes, manufacturing scale-ups and complex technology businesses. He has deep expertise in compound semiconductors and photonics, alongside strong commercial, operational and strategic leadership capabilities. Ian holds a BSc (Hons) in Science & Technology of Materials from the University of Sheffield
