Biography

Hannah Boardman is Director of Frontier and Early-Stage Technologies (FEST) in the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST). She leads the Government’s approach to frontier technologies, including engineering biology, quantum technologies, robotics, advanced materials, semiconductors, AI compute and emerging technology investment. Hannah oversees how Government invests in, regulates and partners on these technologies with industry, academia and international stakeholders. She also leads key elements of the UK Industrial Strategy for high-growth science and technology sectors and oversees major investment programmes. Previously, Hannah was Director for Advanced Manufacturing, supporting the transformation of the automotive and aerospace sectors.
