Biography

Aaron Thacker is a security consultant at Pen Test Partners who spends an unhealthy amount of time taking connected devices apart to find out what they are hiding. His work covers hardware, embedded systems, and AI security, from rooting cheap 4G modems to building strange security demos designed to bring complex security concepts to life.

He enjoys reverse engineering, reflashing firmware, developing proof-of-concept attacks, and turning technical research into something people can actually get their hands on. If a device has firmware, a network connection, or a questionable design choice, Aaron will probably end up with it in pieces on his workbench.
