As vehicle automation increases, physical testing alone can no longer provide sufficient coverage, repeatability or confidence. Virtual testing to validate complex ADAS/ADS is therefore an essential pillar of the certification process – but, only if its evidence can be trusted, audited and consistently reproduced. We must apply a structured, traceable approach – from test-coverage reasoning to simulation toolchain scrutiny – enabling virtual environments to be elevated to the same evidentiary status as controlled facility or on road tests.
