Mustanir is the Head of Cyber Product Assurance for Element’s Connected Technology business unit. He has been involved with helping manufacturers comply with worldwide legislation for over 15 years, with a particular focus on CE marking of products with software.

With a Master of Engineering degree in Electronics and Software Engineering, he started his career developing certified electronic instrumentation and communication equipment for the underground mining sector. Later, he moved into the world of testing and certification, initially specialising in electronic safety controls with embedded software before expanding into medical electrical equipment, lighting controls and other products with software.

He is now fully focused on cybersecurity and product compliance and has been helping IoT manufacturers navigate the PSTI, Radio Equipment Directive cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Act requirements as they have emerged
