SUMMARY:Webinar: The Confidence Toolkit for Women in Tech
DESCRIPTION:The Confidence Toolkit for Women in Tech\nPractical tools to quiet self-doubt\, speak up sooner\, and trust yourself more. \nConfidence is not something you either have or don’t have. It’s something you build. This free virtual workshop is for women in tech who are capable\, ambitious\, and carrying a lot\, but still find themselves second-guessing\, over-preparing\, holding back in the room\, or waiting to feel ready before they move on something. \nThis will not be a passive webinar. It’s an interactive session with guided reflection\, small-group discussion\, and practical exercises you can use right away. You’ll have time to think\, write\, talk with other participants\, and leave with one concrete next step. Breakout rooms and group discussions are part of the format\, so come ready to participate. \nIn this session\, we’ll work on: \n\n\nWhat confidence really is — and what it isn’t \n\n\nThe patterns that get in your way when the stakes are high \n\n\nHow to quiet your inner critic \n\n\nHow to build self-trust instead of waiting for certainty \n\n\nOne brave next step you can take in your work right now \n\n\nYou’ll leave with: \n\n\nA clearer understanding of your confidence patterns \n\n\nLanguage for the inner voice that tends to derail you \n\n\nA few practical tools you can use in meetings\, decisions\, and high-pressure moments \n\n\nA written commitment to one brave move in the next 7 days \n\n\nThis is for you if: \n\n\nYou work in tech and want to speak up more clearly \n\n\nYou’re in a career transition moment and feel ready for more\, but not always sure how to back yourself \n\n\nYou’re tired of overthinking\, over-preparing\, and waiting to feel fully ready \n\n\nYou want something honest\, useful\, and real — not fluffy advice \n\n\nFormat: Live virtual workshop\nIncludes: Guided reflection\, breakout discussions\, practical tools\, and Q&A \nLed by Sally Revell\, https://www.linkedin.com/in/sally-revell/\, career and leadership coach and former AWS and Google Cloud leader\, this session is built for women in tech who want something grounded\, useful\, and honest. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Women in TechWorks: From Qubits to Confidence - Verifying Quantum Error Correction
DESCRIPTION:With Rojalin Mishra\, Lead Verification Engineer (Riverlane)\nThis talk explores the engineering realities behind quantum computing\, focusing on the role of hardware verification in building reliable quantum systems. Drawing on experience as a lead verification engineer working on FPGA-based quantum error correction systems\, the speaker shares both personal career insights and the technical challenges involved in developing hardware at the frontier of emerging technology. \nThe session begins with a reflection on the speaker’s journey into hardware verification\, highlighting the importance of persistence\, analytical thinking\, and systematic problem-solving in a highly specialised field. It also examines the challenge of communicating verification work to wider teams\, and the need for collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines in quantum hardware development. \nA central theme is the demystification of quantum error correction. Through practical analogies and examples\, attendees will learn why qubits are fragile\, how errors accumulate\, and how engineers design and verify systems to maintain reliability. The talk demonstrates how abstract quantum physics becomes practical engineering through FPGA-based implementations\, error-detection circuits\, and rigorous testing methodologies. \nUsing real debugging stories from high-stakes projects\, the presentation also shows how verification provides a broader framework for structured problem-solving across engineering domains. Attendees will gain practical insights into quantum hardware\, verification engineering\, and the mindset required to innovate effectively in advanced technology sectors. \nBiography \nI am an Electronics and Communications engineer with over a decade of experience in ASIC verification\, specializing in complex digital systems and verification methodologies. I currently serve as a Lead Verification Engineer\, driving FPGA-based verification for Quantum Error Correction within the rapidly evolving field of Quantum Computing.

SUMMARY:Women in TechWorks online Town Hall Event
DESCRIPTION:Our Women in TechWorks group will be hosting an online town hall webinar designed to bring members together and share important updates. This session will provide an opportunity to connect\, stay informed\, and engage with the broader community. \nDuring the webinar\, our Steering Group will share updates on current initiatives and highlight upcoming events and opportunities. Attendees will gain insight into what’s ahead and how to get involved in shaping the future of Women in TechWorks. \nHosted by Jillian Hughes\nHead of Semiconductors & DESN Network Director @ TechWorks and Women in TechWorks Founder \nJillian began her career with a recognised apprenticeship at National Semiconductor in Greenock\, Scotland\, completing her training in 1991. Over the next 15 years\, she built deep technical expertise in semiconductor equipment and process engineering\, working with major multinational companies including Seagate Microelectronics\, Motorola\, and Freescale Semiconductor. \nShe went on to lead operations across several specialised semiconductor businesses\, focusing on the manufacture\, refurbishment\, sale\, and service of high value capital equipment. \nIn April 2020\, Jillian was appointed NMI Director at Techworks\, the UK’s semiconductor trade association. In this role\, she drew on her extensive industry knowledge to support UK semiconductor companies and worked closely with industry and academia to raise the sector’s profile within Government. \nJillian later served as Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Dalrada Technology and Deposition Technology\, where she oversaw the development and manufacture of advanced capital equipment for emerging semiconductor markets. She has since returned to Techworks as Head of Semiconductors\, leading the Semiconductor Systems Design Network (DESN) and bringing together the UK’s dynamic chip design community to drive collaboration\, innovation\, and knowledge sharing. \nJillian also serves on the Board of Directors at Wafer Fab Solutions\, where she provides strategic business and financial guidance. \nRegister
